Computer Technology has come a very long ways over the last 30+ years. I can still vaguely remember the very first Vic 5 computer which ran under Comms of a 150 baud modem as I recall. Then along came the TRS-80, V1 – V3; (CoCo boards) along with BBS’s. And of course we made our way from DOS, up into Windows 1.0 thru Windows 3.1x before finally being graced by Microsoft with Windows 95 on 24 August 1995 . With mans’ push against the clock, it seemed like everyone was trying to be the first in the Development stages of technology. Then from July 1996 until present day, we have seen the over-exhausted think tanks at Microsoft develop the following OS/P:
- Windows NT 4.0
- Windows 98
- Windows 2000
- Windows Millennium Edition (Me)
- Windows XP
- Windows Server 2003
- Windows XP x64 & Server 2003 x64 Editions
- Windows Server 2003 R2
- Windows Fundamentals for Legacy PCs
- Windows Home Server
- Windows Vista
- Windows Server 2008
- Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2
- Windows Home Server 2011
- Windows Thin PC & Windows 8 and Windows Server 2012
All together, we have witness at least 26 different Operating System Platform’s designed & released to the public in a 29 year span. It is almost maddening if not neck-breaking to try to keep that pace of Developmental Research. In my own experience & having to learn from reading; along with a lot of practical hands on, I have taught myself the basics of Computer Diagnostics, Coding & System Maintenance along with the importance of Antivirus and Anti-Malware care.
Although there are many facets to computer’s, it is always just plain good practice to stay on top of general maintenance and updates. Here at NCISS, we provide a Non-Profit service to our Community in an effort to give back something to our community. We provide Technical, Analytical, Diagnostic & Referral services on most computers’ that operate on any platform of Microsoft Windows OS/P. Among the many services & things that we do; we also provide recommendations on Software programs to protect your computer against Hacker’s & Spyware. There are many options available like avast! Antivirus & Malwarebytes Anti-Malware programs which greatly reduce threat, but we also urge our community to visit Microsoft.com on a regular basis for Security updates.
